Christopher Columbus discovered America In 1492. Christopher Columbus was an Italian explorer, navigator and coloniser. It is commonly said that "Columbus discovered America." It would be more accurate, perhaps, to say that he introduced the Americas to Western Europe during his four voyages to the region between 1492 and 1502.

A power loom is a mechanised loom powered by a line shaft, and was one of the key developments in the industrialization of weaving during the early Industrial Revolution. The first power loom was designed in 1784 by Edmund Cartwright and first built in 1785.

The industrial revolution changed the economic face of England. England became the most advanced country in the world. It developed its trade relations and this increased the national income. The establishment of factories saw the rise of many new industrial towns like Manchester, Lancashire, Birmingham and Sheffield. 

The revolution in agriculture had started before the industrial revolution. The agriculture revolution in 18th century paved the way for the industrial revolution in Britain. New farming techniques and improved live stock breeding led to amplified food production.

It is an instrument meant to know directions. Its needle always points towards the north.
