World Geography and Capitals

Paris is the capital and largest city of France, located in the north-central part of the country. It has been France's political and cultural center for centuries. Nice and Marseille are major French cities, and Venice is a famous city in Italy.

Buenos Aires is the capital and largest city of Argentina, located on the western shore of the Río de la Plata. It's one of South America's most important ports and cultural hubs. São Paulo is in Brazil, Bogotá is the capital of Colombia, and Montenegro is not the capital of any major country.

Abuja is the capital of Nigeria, having replaced Lagos in 1991 as a purpose-built capital located in the geographic center of the country. Abuja was built in the 1980s and became Nigeria's eighth capital. Accra is the capital of Ghana, and Abidjan is the economic capital of Côte d'Ivoire.

Seoul is the capital and largest city of South Korea (officially the Republic of Korea). It's been Korea's capital for over 600 years, since the Joseon Dynasty. Seoul is a megacity and one of the world's most populous metropolitan areas. Beijing is China's capital, Canton is Guangzhou, and Osaka is a major Japanese city.

Athens is the capital and largest city of Greece, known as the cradle of Western civilization and democracy.

London is the capital of England and the United Kingdom, serving as the political, economic, and cultural center.

Washington D.C. is the federal capital of the United States, established in 1790 and named after George Washington.

Algiers has been the capital of Algeria since independence in 1962, located on the Mediterranean coast. It's the country's largest city and political center. Luanda is the capital of Angola, while Lusaka is Zambia's capital.

Ljubljana has been Slovenia's capital since independence from Yugoslavia in 1991. It's located in the central part of the country and has history dating to Roman times. Odessa is in Ukraine, Tashkent is Uzbekistan's capital, and Skopje is North Macedonia's capital.

Berlin is Germany's capital and largest city, serving as the political center since reunification in 1990. While Frankfurt hosts the European Central Bank and Munich is a major tech hub, only Berlin holds the seat of government. Hamburg is a major port city.

Amsterdam is the constitutional capital of the Netherlands, though The Hague hosts the government and parliament. Amsterdam is famous for its canals and historic center. Rotterdam is Europe's largest port, Brussels is Belgium's capital, and Vienna is Austria's capital.

Copenhagen has been Denmark's capital since the 15th century, located on the islands of Zealand and Amager. It's Denmark's cultural and political center. Helsinki is Finland's capital, Oslo is Norway's, and Stockholm is Sweden's capital.
