In the Mahabharata, Bhishma (born as Devavrata) was the son of King Shantanu and the river goddess Ganga. Ganga had drowned her first seven sons, but Shantanu stopped her from drowning the eighth, who became Bhishma.

Neelakandha (or Neelkanth) literally means 'the one with a blue throat.' In Hindu mythology, Lord Shiva's throat turned blue after he consumed the Halahala poison during the churning of the ocean (Samudra Manthan) to protect the universe.

Nataraja is the cosmic dance form of Lord Shiva, depicted as the divine dancer. The name literally means 'Lord of Dance'. Krishna, Vishnu (misspelled as Bishnu), and Brahma are other principal Hindu deities but not associated with Nataraja.

According to Hindu mythology, Nainital got its name from the 'Naina' (eye) of Goddess Sati. It is believed that the eye of Sati fell at this location, giving the lake its name meaning 'lake of the eye'. This makes it one of the Shakti Peeths.

Karna, born to Kunti and Surya (the sun god), was raised by Adhiratha (a charioteer) and his wife Radha. He is renowned for his unmatched generosity (gave away his divine armor) and unwavering loyalty to his friend Duryodhana. The description perfectly matches Karna from the Mahabharata.

Shikhandi is the correct answer. Amba, after being rejected by Bhishma, performed penance and obtained a boon from Shiva to be reborn as the cause of Bhishma's death. In her next life, she was born as Shikhandi (originally female but later transformed into male). Since Bhishma had sworn never to fight a woman, he lowered his weapons when facing Shikhandi, leading to his defeat. The other options are not Amba's reincarnation.

Bhishma's mother was Ganga, the river goddess. King Shantanu fell in love with Ganga, who agreed to marry him on the condition that he would never question her actions. When he broke this promise over their eighth son (Bhishma), she left him, taking the child to train him properly before returning him to Shantanu.

In the Ramayana, Rama killed the demoness Taataka during his exile when Vishwamitra requested his help. Taataka was a fierce Rakshasa who terrorized the forest. Laxmana is Rama's brother, Bharatha is another brother, and Drona is from the Mahabharata period.

Option A refers to the lie about Ashwatthama's death that demoralized Drona. Option D describes Kunti's secret meeting with Karna where he promised to spare all Pandavas except Arjuna. Both events occurred during the war, but claiming they happened specifically on the 15th day requires textual verification.

Badrinath shrine is dedicated to Lord Vishnu, specifically in his form as Badrinarayana. It is one of the four Char Dham pilgrimage sites and one of the 108 Divya Desams dedicated to Vishnu. Kedarnath (dedicated to Shiva) is the nearby counterpart in the Char Dham circuit.

In Tamil, 'Puravi' literally translates to 'horse' - a basic Tamil vocabulary word. 'Ulagam' means world, 'Yaanai' means elephant, and 'Thuravi' means saint, making option B the correct translation. This tests fundamental Tamil vocabulary knowledge.
