• Czech Memorial fountain stands in Jephson Gardens in Royal Leamington Spa where Czech forces were stationed in the war.

Edo is the ancient name for Tokyo. During the reign of the Tokugawa Shoguns, Japan's emperor reigned in secluded majesty at the imperial capital in Kyoto. However, the true center of power, government, the economy and social life was Edo, where the Shogun lived and ruled the country. For most people in Japan, Edo is more than just a historical city. It also has a symbolic image and meaning. It represents nearly everything that they consider a part of their traditional culture.

Krakatoa is a volcanic island situated in the Sunda Strait between the islands of Java and Sumatra in the Indonesian province of Lampung. The name is also used for the surrounding island group comprising the remnants of a much larger island of three volcanic peaks which was obliterated in a cataclysmic 1883 eruption, unleashing huge tsunamis (killing more than 36,000 people) and destroying over two-thirds of the island. The explosion is considered to be the loudest sound ever heard in modern history, with reports of it being heard up to 4,800 km from its point of origin. The shock waves from the explosion were recorded on barographs worldwide for days afterward.

Kukulcan is the Mayan name for the Feathered Serpent deity, also known as Quetzalcoatl in other Mesoamerican cultures.

Machu Picchu was built by the Inca Empire in the 15th century.

Angkor Wat in Cambodia is indeed the largest religious monument in the world by land area. Originally constructed as a Hindu temple dedicated to Vishnu, it was later transformed into a Buddhist temple. The complex covers 162.6 hectares.

The current Hagia Sophia structure in Istanbul was commissioned by Byzantine Emperor Justinian I and completed in 537 AD. It served as a cathedral for nearly a thousand years before becoming a mosque.
