Inventors and Scientific Discoveries

Alexander Bain, a Scottish inventor, created the first facsimile (fax) machine in 1843. His invention used a pendulum to scan documents and transmit electrical signals over telegraph lines, laying the foundation for modern fax technology.

Otis demonstrated his invention dramatically at the 1854 New York World's Fair by cutting the rope while standing on the platform.

John Logie Baird is credited with inventing the first working television system in the 1920s.
