Tehri Dam in Uttarakhand is India's highest dam at 265 meters. It's a multi-purpose rock and earth-fill embankment dam on the Bhagirathi River. Other options are major dams but not the tallest.

Hirakud Dam is India's longest dam at 4.8 km (main dam) with a total length of 25.8 km including dykes. It spans across the Mahanadi River in Odisha. The length refers to the physical expanse of the dam structure.

The Penner River (also called Penna) flows through Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka before emptying into the Bay of Bengal near Nellore, Andhra Pradesh. It is one of the major rivers of peninsular India. The Indian Ocean and Arabian Sea are incorrect.

The Ganga (Ganges) was declared India's national river in 2008 to recognize its cultural, religious, and ecological significance. This status aimed to promote conservation and pollution control efforts.

The Cooum River (also spelled Covum) flows through Chennai. Marina is actually a beach, not a river. The Cooum is one of the major rivers that runs through the city, though it is heavily polluted.
