The Bhor Ghat is a mountain pass in the Sahyadri range of the Western Ghats that provides the crucial railway link between Mumbai and Pune. This is one of the most important railway sections in India, with steep gradients requiring multiple tracks and powerful locomotives.

Guntur is a major city located in the state of Andhra Pradesh in southeastern India. It is an important commercial and educational center in the region, known for its chili markets and agricultural productivity.

New Delhi is the capital of India, serving as the seat of all three branches of the Government of India. It replaced Kolkata as the capital in 1911 when the British shifted their administrative base.

The Integral Coach Factory (ICF) is located in Perambur, Chennai. It was established in 1952 and is a premier railway coach manufacturing unit under the Indian Railways.

Nalanda University was an ancient center of learning located near present-day Patna in Bihar. It was a renowned Buddhist monastery and university that flourished from the 5th to 12th century CE, attracting scholars from all over Asia. The ancient ruins are near modern Patna, making option A correct.

The Supreme Court of India is situated in New Delhi, the capital of India. It was inaugurated on January 28, 1950, and is the highest judicial forum in the country. The Supreme Court building is located on Tilak Marg in New Delhi. Bombay (Mumbai) and Chennai have High Courts, while Chandigarh is the capital of Punjab and Haryana and has the High Court of both states.

India follows the Bharat Stage (BS) emission standards for vehicular pollution, which are based on European norms. The implementation was phased across major cities first. On April 1, 2010, fourteen largest cities including the four metropolitan cities (Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata) upgraded from Bharat Stage III to Bharat Stage IV norms. This was part of a planned environmental policy to reduce vehicular emissions in densely populated urban areas. BS-IV introduced stricter limits on pollutants like carbon monoxide, hydrocarbons, and nitrogen oxides.

The Advertising Club of Kolkata (formerly Calcutta) is India's oldest advertising club, established in 1928. It has played a significant role in the development of advertising industry in India and continues to be an important institution for advertising professionals.

The project for drawing up a concept plan for Mumbai for the next four decades was awarded to Singapore-based firm Surbana International recently. The Mumbai Transformation Support Unit (MTSU), which is commissioning the project, has selected Surbana from among four shortlisted international firms. The concept plan will outline a detailed development programme that will shape the growth of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region until 2052. The concept plan will determine factors like FSI that govern the vertical limit of construction. It will also narrow in on three select locations each in the city, suburbs and the region outside Mumbai district and chart out a masterplan.

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) established its Accountancy Museum in Noida in February 2009. The museum showcases the history and evolution of accounting practices in India, featuring rare documents, books, and artifacts related to the profession.

The Karnataka government has signed six memoranda of understanding with the Mayor of San Francisco and other officials of the US city in various spheres, including culture, trade, tourism and education. This was part of the “sister city programme” between Bangalore and San Francisco. The US city has become the third city to have the “sister city relationship” with Bangalore, after Minsk City in Belarus and the City of Reno, Nevada.

The Chennai Corporation on December 3, 2009 received the National Award for Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, 2009, for its work in the creation of barrier-free environment for persons with disabilities from President Pratibha Patil in New Delhi. Mayor M. Subramanian received the award. The national award has been instituted by the Union Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment.

The Golden Temple (Harmandir Sahib), the holiest gurdwara and most important pilgrimage site of Sikhism, is located in Amritsar, Punjab. Mathura, Bangalore, and Gwalior are major cities but not home to this sacred site.
