Jantar Mantar is an astronomical observatory built by Maharaja Jai Singh II of Jaipur in 1724. The Delhi observatory contains 13 architectural astronomy instruments used for precise observations of celestial bodies. Similar observatories exist in Jaipur, Ujjain, and Varanasi.

Bangalore is called the 'Silicon Valley of India' due to its concentration of IT companies, tech startups, and research institutions. The city has been the hub of India's information technology revolution, hosting major companies like Infosys, Wipro, and numerous multinational tech corporations.

The National Sugar Research Centre, known as the Indian Institute of Sugarcane Research (IISR), is located in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. It is a premier research institution dedicated to sugarcane research and development in India.

The Salar Jung Museum in Hyderabad is one of the three National Museums of India and houses one of the largest collections of antiques and artifacts. It was established from the collection of Mir Yusuf Ali Khan, Salar Jung III, who served as Prime Minister to the Nizam of Hyderabad. Ahmedabad, Mumbai, and Bhubaneswar have other prominent museums but not Salar Jung.

The first post office of the East India Company was established in Kolkata (then Calcutta) in 1727. It became the central hub for the postal system in British India. The General Post Office (GPO) building in Kolkata stands as a historic landmark. Other major cities like Mumbai (Bombay), Delhi, and Chennai (Madras) developed their own postal services later under the expanding British administration.

Lucknow is being developed as an IT City in Uttar Pradesh as part of the state's IT and electronics system design manufacturing policy. The city has been selected for focused development of IT infrastructure and companies.

The Indian Military Academy (IMA) is located in Dehradun, Uttarakhand. It was established in 1932 and is the premier training institute for the Indian Army.

Defence Services Staff College (DSSC) is located in Wellington, Tamil Nadu. It's a premier tri-service training institution where senior military officers prepare for higher command and staff roles. Not to be confused with other defence academies like IMA (Dehradun) or NDA (Khadakwasla).

The World Ayurveda Conference 2006 was held in Pune. This conference brought together Ayurvedic practitioners and researchers from around the world.

The International Children's Film Festival of India, organized by the Children's Film Society of India, held its golden jubilee celebrations in Delhi. Major national-level cultural events and anniversaries are frequently hosted in the capital city.

Article 130 of the Constitution declares that the Supreme Court of India shall sit in New Delhi. The Supreme Court initially sat in the Chamber of Princes in Parliament House before moving to its current building on Tilak Marg in 1958. While it can sit elsewhere, New Delhi remains its permanent seat.

The Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB) is located in Hyderabad, India. It is a premier research institution under the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR).

The Indian National Scientific Documentation Centre (INSDOC) was located in New Delhi. It served as a premier institution for scientific documentation and information services in India.

The Tocklai Experimental Cooperative Research Station is located in Jorhat, Assam. It is the world's largest and oldest tea research station, established in 1911, focusing on tea cultivation and research.

The Central Plantation Crops Research Institute (CPCRI) is located in Kerala, with its headquarters at Kasaragod. It conducts research on plantation crops like coconut, areca nut, and cocoa.
