Indian Cities and Places

The judiciary capital of Chhattisgarh is Bilaspur, where the principal bench of the Chhattisgarh High Court is located. Raipur is the administrative capital. Hyderabad is for Telangana and Delhi has its own High Court.

The judiciary capital of Dadra and Nagar Haveli is Mumbai, falling under the Bombay High Court's jurisdiction. Silvassa is the administrative capital. Daman has its own judicial administration with Diu, and Delhi has a separate High Court.

The judiciary capital of Kerala is Kochi (Cochin), where the High Court of Kerala is located. Thiruvananthapuram is the administrative capital. Ranchi is for Jharkhand and Daman is part of the Daman & Diu union territory.

The Taj Mahal is located in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, on the banks of the Yamuna River. It was built between 1632-1653 by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan as a mausoleum for his wife Mumtaz Mahal. Delhi, Mumbai, Calcutta (Kolkata) are major Indian cities but not home to the Taj Mahal.

Mahatma Gandhi was born on October 2, 1869, in Porbandar, a coastal city in Gujarat. His birthplace, known as Kirti Mandir, is now a national monument. Gandhinagar was named after him but is a planned city built later. Ahmedabad and Vapi are important Gujarat cities but not his birthplace.

Indira Gandhi was born on November 19, 1917, in Allahabad (now Prayagraj), Uttar Pradesh. She was the daughter of Jawaharlal Nehru and her grandfather Motilal Nehru's home, Anand Bhavan, was in Allahabad. While she represented Varanasi in Parliament and lived in Delhi as Prime Minister, Allahabad is her birthplace.

Rabindranath Tagore was born on May 7, 1861, in Calcutta (now Kolkata) in the Jorasanko Thakurbari mansion. He lived most of his life in Calcutta and founded Visva-Bharati University in nearby Santiniketan. Dhaka was part of undivided Bengal but not Tagore's birthplace. Midnapur and Siliguri are Bengal cities but not associated with his birth.

Hyderabad is the birthplace of Sarojini Naidu, the Nightingale of India. She was born in Hyderabad in 1879 to a Bengali Brahmo family. The other options are major cities but not associated with her origins.

Kolkata (formerly Calcutta) is the capital of West Bengal and was the capital of British India until 1911. It's located on the east bank of the Hooghly River. Guwahati is in Assam, Dehradun in Uttarakhand, and Cuttack in Odisha.

Chennai (formerly Madras) is the capital of Tamil Nadu and one of India's major port cities on the Coromandel Coast. Tanjavur, Krishnagiri (misspelled as krisnagiri), and Coimbatore are important cities in TN but not the capital.

Thiruvananthapuram (Trivandrum) is the capital of Kerala. Chennai is the capital of Tamil Nadu, Bhubaneswar is the capital of Odisha, and Kochi is a major city in Kerala but not the state capital.

The Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB), a premier research institution under CSIR, is located in Hyderabad. Established in 1977, it is renowned for cutting-edge research in molecular and cellular biology.

The Railway Staff College, now known as the National Academy of Indian Railways (NAIR), is located in Vadodara, Gujarat. It trains railway officers and is housed in the historic Pratap Vilas Palace built in 1914.

Ahmedabad is the 7th largest city in India by population, after Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Chennai, and Kolkata. The ranking can vary slightly depending on whether you consider city proper or urban agglomeration, but 7th position is commonly cited for Ahmedabad.

The National Defence Academy (NDA) is located at Khadakvasla near Pune, Maharashtra. It is India's premier joint services training academy. Options B, C, D are major Indian cities but do not house the NDA.
