The Justice Venugopal Commission was established in 1982 to investigate the Kanyakumari communal riots between Hindus and Christians. Jagmohan Reddy Commission probed the 1969 Ahmedabad riots, Liberhan Commission investigated the 1992 Babri Masjid demolition, and Nanavati Commission covered the 1984 anti-Sikh riots and 2002 Gujarat riots.
