Anchiornis, from the Late Jurassic of China, was one of the smallest known dinosaurs, weighing only about 110 grams and roughly 34 cm in length. It was a small, feathered troodontid-like dinosaur. Other small dinosaurs include Microraptor and Epidexipteryx, but Anchiornis represents the smallest among the options given.

Sir Richard Owen, a British anatomist, coined the term "dinosaur" in 1842. The name comes from Greek words meaning "terrible lizard," reflecting their large size and fearsome appearance. Owen recognized that Megalosaurus, Iguanodon, and Hylaeosaurus formed a distinct group of extinct reptiles unlike any living animals.

Tyrannosaurus rex was one of the largest carnivorous dinosaurs, with powerful jaws and serrated teeth adapted for eating meat. The Japanese Shinkansen (bullet train) system uses 25,000 volt AC overhead power supply for most of its lines. This voltage standard was chosen to efficiently power the high-speed trains while minimizing power losses over long distances. The 25 kV AC system is common internationally for high-speed rail. Lower voltages would have higher power loss, while significantly higher voltages would require more expensive infrastructure. This voltage has been used since the first Shinkansen line opened in 1964.

Centralized Traffic Control (CTC) is the system that manages all Shinkansen train operations, including tracks, stations, schedules, and train movements. CTC allows operators to monitor and control the entire railway network from a central location, ensuring safe and efficient operations. While Automatic Train Control (ATC) is a safety system that prevents accidents, CTC is the broader management system. The Japan Railways Group operates the trains, but CTC is the specific control system name. The Trans-Siberian Railway is unrelated to Japan.

The first segment of the Tokaido Shinkansen, opened in 1964, connected Tokyo to Osaka, Japan's two largest cities. This 515-kilometer line was the world's first high-speed rail line and was built for the Tokyo Olympics. The route was chosen because it connected the most important economic centers on Japan's main island of Honshu. Honshu is the island where the line is located, not the destination city. Hiroshima is on a different Shinkansen line (Sanyo), and Singapore is in a different country entirely.
