Kerala is known as India's Spice Garden because of its vast spice plantations and historical spice trade. The state produces pepper, cardamom, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, and turmeric in significant quantities. The Western Ghats' tropical climate provides ideal conditions for spice cultivation, earning Kerala this title.

Goa is located along the Mandovi River, with its capital Panaji situated on the river's banks. The Mandovi is one of Goa's major rivers, flowing through the heart of the state. While Goa has multiple rivers including the Zuari, the Mandovi is the most significant and is where Panaji is located. Ganga flows through the north, Gomati in Uttar Pradesh, and Sabarmati in Gujarat.

The Western Ghats in Maharashtra are locally known as the Sahyadri range. The Sahyadris form a major portion of the Western Ghats mountain chain and include famous peaks like Kalsubai and hill stations like Mahabaleshwar. Nilgiris are in Tamil Nadu-Kerala border, Cardamom Hills in Kerala, and Annamalai in Tamil Nadu.

Sarojini Naidu, known as the 'Nightingale of India,' became the first woman Governor of Uttar Pradesh in 1947 after independence. She was a key figure in India's freedom movement and a celebrated poet.

Dr. Rajendra Prasad served as India's first President from 1950 to 1962. Before becoming President, he was President of the Constituent Assembly that drafted India's Constitution and a key freedom movement leader.

Indira Gandhi was the first Indian woman to receive Bharat Ratna in 1971. Mother Teresa received it later in 1980, while M.S. Subbulakshmi got it in 1998. Aruna Asaf Ali never received Bharat Ratna.

General K.M. Cariappa became the first Indian Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Army on January 15, 1949. Before him, this position was held by British officers. He led the Indian forces during the 1947-48 Kashmir war.

Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel served as India's first Deputy Prime Minister from 1947 until his death in 1950. He was also India's first Home Minister and played a crucial role in integrating princely states. Morarji Desai became Deputy PM much later under Janata Party government.

Rajkumari Amrit Kaur became India's first woman Cabinet Minister, serving as Health Minister from 1947 to 1957. Dr. Vijayalakshmi Pandit was a diplomat, not a cabinet minister. Dr. Annie Besant was not in independent India's cabinet, and Sheila Dixit served much later as Delhi CM.

Sir Archibald Nye was the last British Governor of Madras province and continued as Governor even after India's independence in 1947. He served until 1948 when the position was abolished. The other options were from much earlier colonial periods.
