In Greek mythology, Echo was a mountain nymph who fell in love with Narcissus but was rejected. She pined away until only her voice remained. Narcissus himself fell in love with his own reflection and died gazing at it.

In Greek mythology, Zeus had multiple divine consorts: Hera (his sister and queen of gods), Demeter (goddess of harvest), and Io (a mortal lover whom Zeus transformed into a heifer to hide her from Hera). Ariadne was associated with Dionysus, not Zeus.
