World Geography and Capitals

Budapest is the capital and largest city of Hungary, formed by the unification of Buda, Obuda, and Pest in 1873. It is located on the Danube River and is known for its thermal baths and historic architecture. Gyor, Szolnok, and Miskolc are other significant Hungarian cities but not the capital.

Tallinn is the capital and largest city of Estonia, located on the Gulf of Finland. Its Old Town is a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its well-preserved medieval architecture. Keila, Parnu (a resort city), and Tapa are other Estonian towns but not the capital.

Naypyidaw is the capital of Myanmar, established in 2005. It replaced Yangon (formerly Rangoon) as the administrative capital. The name means 'abode of kings' in Burmese.

Ulan Bator (also spelled Ulaanbaatar) is the capital and largest city of Mongolia. It's the political, cultural, and economic center of the country, located in east-central Mongolia.

Vientiane is the capital and largest city of Laos, located on the banks of the Mekong River near the border with Thailand. It has been the administrative capital since the Lane Xang Kingdom and remained so through French colonial rule to modern independence.

The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) has its headquarters in Rome, Italy. Many UN specialized agencies are located in European cities, but FAO specifically is based in Rome.

UNESCO headquarters is located in Paris, France, at Place de Fontenoy. This has been the organization's headquarters since its establishment in 1945. Paris was chosen as the seat of UNESCO and hosts its main office, conference facilities, and permanent secretariat.

Asuncion is the capital and largest city of Paraguay, located in South America. Helsinki is the capital of Finland, Santiago of Chile, and Guatemala City of Guatemala.

Canberra is the capital of Australia, established in 1908 as a compromise between rivals Sydney and Melbourne. Perth and Sydney are major cities but not capitals. Queensland is a state, not a city. This is a common geography misconception.

Sydney is the largest city in Australia by population, with over 5 million residents in its metropolitan area. It's the capital of New South Wales and home to iconic landmarks like the Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge. Wanneroo is a suburb of Perth, while Perth and Melbourne are large but smaller than Sydney.

Minsk is the capital and largest city of Belarus, located in Eastern Europe. The other options are capitals of different territories: St Peter Port (Guernsey), Cayenne (French Guiana), and Tallinn (Estonia - note the misspelling).
