World Geography and Capitals

South Africa has three capitals: Pretoria (executive), Cape Town (legislative), and Bloemfontein (judicial). This unique arrangement reflects the political compromise during the formation of the South African Union. The option 'Darben' appears to be a misspelling or nonexistent location.

The government relocation has been gradual. Tel Aviv is Israel's economic center (Jerusalem is the proclaimed capital), and Abidjan is in Côte d'Ivoire.

Western Sahara (Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic) has two claimed capitals: El Aaiún (Laayoune) is the largest city under Moroccan control, while Bir Lehlou is the temporary capital located in the liberated territories. Mbabane is in Eswatini, and Dodoma is in Tanzania.

Rome is traditionally called the 'City of Seven Hills' (Septimontium). The seven hills are the Palatine, Capitoline, Quirinal, Viminal, Esquiline, Caelian, and Aventine. This ancient geographical feature defined the early boundaries of Rome and remains central to its identity.

The Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) is headquartered in Edinburgh, Scotland. Despite its UK-wide operations, RBS has maintained its headquarters in Edinburgh since its founding in 1727.

Barajas International Airport (officially Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas) is Madrid's primary airport and Spain's largest aviation hub. It serves as the main gateway for both Madrid and the broader Iberian Peninsula. Zurich has its own airport, Amsterdam uses Schiphol, and Helsinki has Vantaa.

Rio de Janeiro was the capital of Brazil from 1763 (when it replaced Salvador) until 1960, when the capital was moved to the newly built city of Brasilia. This move was part of a plan to develop Brazil's interior. Options A and C are misspellings of 'Brasilia', while Sao Paulo (option D) is Brazil's largest city but was never the capital.

Wellington, New Zealand is the world's southernmost capital city at approximately 41°S latitude. Sydney (option C) is not a capital city, while New York (option A) and Jamaica (option B) are in the northern hemisphere.

Addis Ababa is the capital and largest city of Ethiopia. It serves as the headquarters of the African Union, making it politically significant continent-wide. Haiti is a country, Damascus is Syria's capital, and Istanbul is Turkey's largest city (though not its capital).

Helsinki is Finland's capital and largest city, located on the Baltic Sea. Geneva is Swiss, Dublin is Ireland's capital, and Rome is Italy's capital.
