The 2014 Winter Olympics were held in Sochi, Russia. This was the first time Russia hosted the Winter Olympics. The games took place from February 7 to February 23, 2014. Sochi is a resort city located on the Black Sea coast.

Badminton is officially recognized as Malaysia's national sport. Malaysia has been consistently competitive in international badminton, producing world-class players like Lee Chong Wei. The sport's popularity and Malaysia's success on the global stage led to its designation as a national sport, similar to how other countries recognize their sporting strengths.

Lawn tennis was first played in London, England. The All England Club in Wimbledon, London established the first tennis championship in 1877, and the modern rules of lawn tennis were codified in London. This makes London the birthplace of the modern game.

Lawn tennis was reintroduced to the Olympics in 1984 at the Los Angeles Games after being withdrawn following the 1924 Paris Olympics. The sport had been dropped due to disputes over amateur rules and was absent from the Olympic program for 60 years before its successful return.

The 1900 Summer Olympics were held in Paris, France, as part of the World's Fair. Athens hosted the first modern Olympics in 1896, St. Louis hosted in 1904, and London first hosted in 1908.

The 1964 Summer Olympics were held in Tokyo, Japan. This was the first time the Olympics were held in Asia. London hosted in 1908, 1948, and 2012, while Rome hosted in 1960.

The 2016 Summer Olympics were held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, the first time they were hosted in South America. Tokyo hosted in 1964 and will host again in 2020 (delayed to 2021), while London hosted in 2012.

The 1980 Summer Olympics were held in Moscow, Soviet Union (now Russia). This Olympics was boycotted by many countries including the USA. Tokyo hosted in 1964, while Athens has hosted multiple times but not in 1980.

The 1968 Summer Olympics were held in Mexico City. This was the first Olympics held in Latin America and was famous for the Black Power salute by Tommie Smith and John Carlos. Rome hosted in 1960, Munich in 1972.

The logo of the 2008 Beijing Olympics was named "Dancing Beijing" (Chinese: 舞动的北京). It featured a stylized calligraphic character representing a dancing figure, combining elements of Chinese traditional art with Olympic spirit. The slogan "One World, One Dream" was the theme, not the logo name.

The official accommodation for Olympic athletes is called the Olympic Village. This is a dedicated residential complex built to house athletes, coaches, and team officials during the Games. The term 'Village' is the standard designation used by the International Olympic Committee and organizing committees worldwide.
