The 2008 Summer Paralympics were held in Beijing, China, from September 6-17. This was the first time China hosted the Paralympic Games, and they followed the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

Barcelona hosted the 1992 Summer Olympic Games. This event significantly modernized the city's infrastructure and boosted its international profile. Madrid has never hosted the Olympics.

The Indian football team made its first Olympic appearance at the 1948 London Olympics, just one year after independence. Although they lost to France 1-2, the team notably played barefoot and gained international recognition for their skill and spirit.

Canada won the maximum number of Gold medals (14) in the 2010 Winter Olympics held in Vancouver, as the host nation.

Due to Hong Kong's equine disease regulations, the equestrian events of the 2008 Beijing Olympics were held in Hong Kong. Beijing hosted all other events, but equestrian competitions required separate facilities. This was a unique arrangement for Olympic history.

Usain Bolt is from Jamaica and famously represented his home country at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. His 9.69-second 100m world record was one of the most iconic moments in Olympic history. Kenya and the US are known for sprinting but Bolt is Jamaican.

Kite flying is recognized as a professional sport in Thailand, where competitive kite flying has a long cultural tradition. The country hosts professional tournaments and has organized kite fighting competitions, making it unique in treating kiting as a serious competitive sport rather than just recreation.

India holds the record for the most Olympic hockey gold medals, winning 8 gold medals in men's field hockey. This includes an unprecedented streak of 6 consecutive gold medals from 1928 to 1956, followed by additional wins in 1964. No other country has matched this achievement in Olympic hockey history - Pakistan has 3 gold medals, Netherlands has 2 (mostly in women's hockey), and South Korea has never won Olympic gold in hockey.
