The TMS or Tawa Matsya Sangh - A federation of fishermen's cooperatives was an organization formed in the state of Madhya Pradesh to fight for the rights of the displaced forest dwellers of the Satpura forest.

The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) which means Dravidian Progress Federation was founded by C.N Annadurai on 17th September 1949 in Tamil Nadu. It is a state political party in the South Indian state of Tamil Nadu and Union territory of Puducherry. The DMKs ideology includes social democracy, populist and democratic socialism.

Tamil Nadu was the first state in India to introduce the Mid-Day Meal Scheme. The Mid-day Meal Scheme involves the provision of lunch free of cost to school-children on all working days. Its key objectives include: Protecting children from classroom hunger; Increasing school enrolment and attendance; Improved socialisation among children belonging to all castes and Addressing malnutrition, and social empowerment through provision of employment to women.The programme has also helped reduce caste prejudices because both lower and upper caste children in the school eat this meal together.

First nuclear test was conducted in Pokhran.

 It is a remote location in the Thar Desert region and served as the test site for India's first underground nuclear weapon detonation.

The Doctrine of Lapse was an annexation policy introduced by Lord Dalhousie. It was based on the idea that in case a ruler of dependent state died childless, the right of ruling over the State lapses to the sovereign. It was used by him to annex the independent Indian States such as the States of Satara, Jaipur, Sambhalpur, Baghat, Udaipur, Jhansi and Nagpur.

Hyderabad was the first state to enter into a Subsidiary Alliance with the British in 1798 under Lord Wellesley.

The Subsidiary Alliance System was introduced by Lord Wellesley. Satara was annexed later under the Doctrine of Lapse, not the Subsidiary Alliance System.

Bahmani State had the parts of Karnataka, Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh (Telangana) states under its rule. In the beginning, Kalaburagi and later Bidar were their capitals. Bahmani Empire was in northern part of the Krishna River and Vijayanagara Empire was in southern part of Krishna. Tajuddin Firoz Shah was the great Sultan in Bahmani dynasty.

Gujarat was the first state in India to implement a village-level marketing platform (e-NAM or similar initiatives) to improve market access for farmers.
