Indian Scientists and Scholars

Ananda Coomaraswamy was a prominent scholar who emphasized the need to understand the religious and philosophical context of Indian art, arguing that it is essential for comprehending its significance and symbolism.

S. S. Shrikhande was the founder and first director of CAM.

C. S. Seshadri, M. S. Raghunathan, and R. Parthasarathy are all CAM alumni. S. Ramanujan was not a CAM alumnus.

Deepak Chopra, Amit Goswami, and Ervin Laszlo are all contemporary Indian philosophers who have written extensively on the relationship between science and spirituality.

C. V. Raman is widely regarded as the father of Indian Physics for his groundbreaking work on the scattering of light, which earned him the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1930.
