Sharadindu Bandyopadhyay, a Bengali writer, created the detective character Byomkesh Bakshi in 1932. Tagore was a poet and Nobel laureate, Khudiram Bose was a revolutionary, and Subhash Chandra Bose was a freedom fighter - none created detective characters.
