Life of Pi is a philosophical novel by Yann Martel, published in 2001. It tells the story of Piscine Molitor 'Pi' Patel, an Indian boy who survives 227 days adrift on a lifeboat in the Pacific Ocean with a Bengal tiger. The novel won the Man Booker Prize in 2002 and was adapted into an Academy Award-winning film by Ang Lee in 2012.
