Kannur is widely recognized as the leading producer of cashew nuts in Kerala. Other districts like Kasaragod also produce cashews, but Kannur consistently holds the top position in production statistics.

Gujarat is rich in minerals. The minerals available in Gujarat have contributed in the rapid development of industries. China clay is found in the districts of Sabarkantha, Mehsana, Surat, Panchmahal. It is used for Paper, textile, pesticides, plastic, in cosmetics and cement industries.

The State of Tamil Nadu extends latitudinally between $8^04'$ North and $13^035'$ North.

Narsinghpur is a town in Madhya Pradesh state of central India. Narsinghpur is the administrative headquarters of Narsinghpur District. It was declared as the first fully literate district of the Hindi speaking belt. 

Punjab is a northwestern state in India. It is borderd by Jammu and Kashmir, Haryana, Rajasthan and Himachal Pradesh. It was called the land of seven rivers during the Vedic age. It is the heart of India’s Sikh community and known for the Golden temple which is a major pilgrimage site.

Gas and Oil fields are located in Naharkatiya, Assam. Oil from these fields is sent to Nunmati for refining and gas is made into electricity at Namrup.

Guwahati, Barauni, Koyali, Haldia, Digboi, and Mathura are all locations of major oil refineries in India, many of which are operated by the Indian Oil Corporation.

Petroleum refinery is located in Barauni in the state of Bihar. It was built in collaboration with Soviet Union. It was started in July 1964.

Jammu and Kashmir has two capital cities. Srinagar is the summer capital and Jammu is the winter capital. 

The Tawa dam began to be built in the year 1958 and was completed in the year 1978. It submerged a large area of forest and agricultural land.

Gol Gumbaz is situated in Bijapur. In Bijapur, it is called the whispering gallery because when one whispers, lingering echo of the whisper is heard in the opposite corner. It is the mausoleum of Adil Shah, the Sultan of Bijapur. Construction of the tomb was started in 1626 and was completed in 1656.

The chotanagpur plateau industrial region covers part of Jharkhand, Bihar and West Bengal states. It is one of the best location for Iron Steel industry as the raw material is found in abundance in this region. Ahmedabad-Vadodara industrial region is the third largest industrial region of the country which lies in close proximity to the cotton growing tracts of the Gujarat plains. Hooghly industrial region lies in West Bengal.

On 30 July 2014, a landslide occurred in the village of Malin in the Ambegaon taluka of the Pune district in Maharashtra, India. The landslide, which hit early in the morning while residents were asleep, was believed to have been caused by a burst of heavy rainfall, and killed at least 151 people. The landslide was first noticed by a bus driver who drove by the area and saw that the village had been overrun with mud and earth. In addition to those dead, more than 160 people, and possibly up to 200, were believed to have been buried in the landslide in 44 separate houses. Rains continued after the landslide making rescue efforts difficult.
