Indian Standard Time is calculated from the longitude 82.5°E, which passes through Allahabad (now Prayagraj). The Indian Time Standard meridian runs near the Allahabad Observatory. IST is UTC+5:30, making it 5.5 hours ahead of Greenwich Mean Time.

Karachi is located on the coast of the Arabian Sea at the southern end of the Indus River delta. The Indus River flows through Pakistan and empties into the Arabian Sea near Karachi. The city's strategic coastal location has made it Pakistan's largest port and major industrial center.

Kalidasa's Meghaduta (Cloud Messenger) prominently features Ujjain (ancient Ujjaini), where the exiled yaksha (nature spirit) resides and longs for his beloved. The poem describes the route the cloud-messenger would take from Ujjain to Alaka (near Mount Kailash). The first session of the Constituent Assembly convened on 9 December 1946 in New Delhi. It was presided over by Dr Sachchidananda Sinha, the temporary chairman, before Dr Rajendra Prasad was elected as the permanent President.

The Indian Institute of Science (IISc) was established in Bangalore (now Bengaluru) in 1909 and continues to be located there. It is one of India's premier research institutions. Chennai (A), New Delhi (C), and Kharagpur (D) host IITs but not IISc.

New Delhi is capital of India and Lisbon of Portugal. 

Diamond Harbour is a town in the South 24 Parganas district of West Bengal, India, and serves as a satellite town for Kolkata. It is located on the eastern banks of the Hooghly River and is part of the Kolkata metropolitan area. Option C (Kolkata) is correct.

Barkatullah University is located in Bhopal, the capital city of Madhya Pradesh. It was originally established as the University of Bhopal in 1970 and renamed in 1988 after the freedom fighter Barkatullah.

The National Ship Design and Research Centre (NSDRC) is located in Vishakhapatnam (also spelled Visakhapatnam). It's a premier research institution under the Ministry of Defence focused on naval ship design. The other cities are major ports but not the location of NSDRC.

NH1 is Sher Shah Suri Marg and runs from Delhi to Amritsar.

The road development project linking Delhi-Kolkata-Chennai-Mumbai-Delhi by six-lane Super Highways is the Golden Quadrilateral. Ahmedabad is not linked by the Golden Quadrilateral.
