The Indira Gandhi Cultural Centre of the ICCR (Indian Council for Cultural Relations), New Delhi, was formally inaugurated in Dhaka on March 18, 2010 by ICCR president Karan Singh. The ICCR is providing special scholarships to 100 students from Bangladesh each year to pursue graduate and postgraduate studies in premier institutions in India.

Silvassa is the capital of Dadra and Nagar Haveli, a union territory located between Gujarat and Maharashtra. Goa has its capital at Panaji, while Daman and Diu is a separate union territory with Daman as its capital. Silvassa remained the administrative center even after the merger of Dadra and Nagar Haveli with Daman and Diu in 2020.

Chennai is the headquarters of the Southern Railway zone of Indian Railways. The Southern Railway zone was created in 1951 and its zonal headquarters is located at Chennai Central (now Puratchi Thalaivar Dr. M.G. Ramachandran Central Railway Station). Kochi and Bangalore are under South Western Railway, while Secunderabad is the headquarters of South Central Railway.

The Paradesi Synagogue in Kochi (Cochin), Kerala, built in 1568, is the oldest active synagogue in the Commonwealth of Nations and one of the very few surviving Jewish synagogues in India. It's part of the historic Jewish quarter of Mattancherry.

The first post office in India was established in 1727 in Calcutta (now Kolkata) by the East India Company. Calcutta was the capital of British India until 1911 and was the center of colonial administration and communication networks.

Bengaluru is home to Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), India's premier aerospace company. The city houses major aircraft manufacturing facilities and R&D centers, making it the hub of India's aircraft industry.

The Union Government's Metro rail expansion plan included Kochi, Hyderabad, and Chennai (in addition to existing Kolkata and Delhi networks), but not Pune. Pune was not part of the initial phase of Metro rail expansion announced by the central government. The planned expansions were aimed at decongesting major urban centers and improving public transportation infrastructure.

Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) is located in Mumbai, specifically in Trombay. It is India's premier nuclear research facility named after Dr. Homi Bhabha.

Meenambakkam International Airport is located in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. It serves as one of the main terminals of Chennai International Airport, which is the fourth busiest airport in India. The airport handles both domestic and international flights.
