The Indian Botanical Garden (also known as Acharya Jagadish Chandra Bose Botanical Garden) is located in Kolkata, West Bengal. It houses the famous Great Banyan Tree. Dehradun has the Forest Research Institute, Lucknow has the National Botanical Research Institute, and Chennai has the Theosophical Society Gardens.

Lucknow is known as the 'City of Parks' due to its numerous gardens and green spaces like the Lucknow Zoo garden, Ambedkar Park, and various historic gardens. Kanpur, Gorakhpur, and Mathura are not specifically known by this title.

Kanpur earned the title 'Manchester of Uttar Pradesh' due to its extensive textile and leather industries. Like Manchester in England, Kanpur became a major industrial hub, particularly for cotton and woolen textiles during the colonial period.

Kanpur has a Polytechnic College specifically established for disabled persons. This is one of the several technical institutions in Kanpur serving special needs groups.

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) in Uttar Pradesh is situated in Kanpur. IIT Kanpur was established in 1959 and is one of the premier technical institutes in India.

The Sangeet Natak Academy in Uttar Pradesh is situated in Lucknow, the state capital. Lucknow is recognized as a major center for arts and culture in UP.

The Kandhamal nun rape case is a legal matter from Orissa (now Odisha). The Orissa High Court would have jurisdiction over such cases in the state. Cuttack is a major city in Odisha where high court matters are often transferred.

Kanpur is located in the Ganga-Yamuna Doab, the fertile alluvial plain between the Ganga and Yamuna rivers. The city's position on the banks of the Ganga places it firmly within this agriculturally significant region.

The Congress-League Pact of 1916, also known as the Lucknow Pact, was signed in Lucknow. It was an agreement between the Indian National Congress and the All-India Muslim League. The pact was brokered by Bal Gangadhar Tilak and Muhammad Ali Jinnah during the joint session at Lucknow.

The Nehru Institute of Ophthalmology is located in Sitapur, Uttar Pradesh. It's a premier eye hospital and training institute established in memory of Jawaharlal Nehru's vision for healthcare. Agra is known for the Taj Mahal and medical colleges, Lucknow has SGPGI and KGMU, while Ghaziabad doesn't have this specialized institute.

The Grand Trunk (GT) Road runs from Amritsar to Kolkata passing through major cities like Aligarh, Kanpur, Allahabad (Prayagraj), Varanasi, and others. Lucknow, despite being a major UP city, is not on the GT Road route. The GT Road follows a more southern path through the Gangetic plain.

The Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) is located in Pune, Maharashtra. It is India's premier institute for film and television education, established in 1960. Mumbai is the center of Bollywood but FTII's academic institution is in Pune.

Jaipur is famously called the Pink City because many of its old buildings are painted in pinkish terracotta color. This tradition started in 1876 when the city was painted pink to welcome the Prince of Wales. Kolkata, Lucknow, and Mumbai are not known by this name.
