The National Institute of Water Sports is headquartered in Goa. This institute is responsible for the development and promotion of water sports in India. Goa is a logical location given its extensive coastline and strong water sports culture and infrastructure.

Panaji (Panjim) is Goa's capital, and with Goa being India's smallest state by area with a modest population, its capital city naturally represents about 25% of the state's total population. NH 7 runs from Varanasi to Kanyakumari, NH 6 from Kolkata to Mumbai, and NH 5 from Chennai to Kolkata. The question refers to the older NH numbering system before the renumbering in 2010.

The Ardh Kumbh Mela is held every 6 years at four rotating locations: Haridwar, Allahabad (Prayagraj), Ujjain, and Nashik. In 2007, the Ardh Kumbh Mela was held in Allahabad (Prayagraj) at the confluence of the Ganges, Yamuna, and mythical Saraswati rivers.

The Indo-German Max Planck Centre on Computer Science at Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi was inaugurated by Prithviraj Chavan, Minister of Science & Technology and Earth Sciences along with Horst Koehler, President of the Federal Republic of Germany on February 03, 2010. The establishment of a German House of Science and Innovation under which German institutions will come together and present themselves as partners for the future was also announced on the occasion.

Chief Minister K. Rosaiah inaugurated the Brandix India Apparel City (BIAC) in Visakhapatnam on February 5. Brandix Lanka, which is Sri Lanka's largest integrated apparel exporter conceived BIAC and manages it.

The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) unveiled plans to have year-long celebrations for the city's 600^th anniversary. The celebrations began on February 26, which is the day when the foundation of the city was laid by Ahmed Shah in 1411.

The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), in association with AYUSH (Department of Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy), government of India, and the Kerala government will organised the Global Ayurveda Summit 2010 from March 24 to 26, 2010 in Kochi. The theme of the summit was 'global health challenges: Ayurveda solutions'.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on March 20, 2010 declared open the world's first green legislature building, the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly-Secretariat Complex, on the Omanthoorar Government Estate in Chennai.

India's first open jail for women was inaugurated at the Yerwada Central Prison in Pune on March 14, 2010 by Maharashtra Home Minister R.R. Patil.
