The Mobira Senator was introduced in 1982 as Nokia's first mobile phone. It was designed for use in cars and operated on the NMT (Nordic Mobile Telephone) network, which was an early analog mobile standard. This phone was not portable and had to be installed in vehicles.

The Nokia 9000 Communicator, launched in 1996, was Nokia's first smartphone and included fax, calendar, email, and internet capabilities. It was a revolutionary device that opened like a clamshell to reveal a larger screen and keyboard, essentially combining a phone with a personal digital assistant.

The Nokia 3810 was a GSM phone specifically designed for Asian markets in the mid-1990s. It was a variant of the Nokia 2110 adapted for Asian frequency bands and market preferences. The 3820, 3210, and 3811 models either came later or were not specifically designed for Asian consumers.

Nokia's Xpress-on covers feature was introduced with the 5110 model in 1997, allowing users to customize their phone's appearance. The 5100 series represents this innovation. The 5200, 4100, and 4200 were later models or different series altogether.
