The Nokia 1011, launched in 1992, was Nokia's first digital mobile phone to use the GSM (Global System for Mobile Communications) network. GSM was the first digital standard for mobile phones, replacing earlier analog systems like NMT. The 1011 could store 99 phone numbers and had a monochrome display.
