Parasurama (Lord Parashurama) cursed Karna to forget the invocation mantra for the Brahmastra weapon at the crucial moment when he would need it most. This curse was given after Karna lied about his birth to Parasurama, claiming to be a Brahmin when he was actually a warrior (Kshatriya). The curse meant that Karna would be unable to recall the Brahmastra when fighting Arjuna, his greatest rival. Vasista, Viswamitra, and Drona were not involved in this particular curse.

In 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows,' Harry found Mad-Eye Moody's magical eye embedded in the wood of Umbridge's office door at the Ministry of Magic. Albus Dumbledore left Ron Weasley the Deluminator (also called a Put-Outer) in his will, given to him after Dumbledore's death. The Deluminator could capture light from nearby sources and release it later, and it ultimately helped Ron find his way back to Harry and Hermione after he temporarily left the group. Dumbledore left Harry the Golden Snitch (containing the Resurrection Stone), Hermione the first edition of 'The Tales of Beedle the Bard,' and Ron the Deluminator - each item holding personal significance for the recipient.

Snape was the Half-Blood Prince (his mother was a Prince, his father a muggle), which Harry discovers when he confronts Snape during the climax of the book. This is a key plot point that reveals Snape's dual identity and his potions mastery.
