Wastes which consist of materials those are difficult to biodegrade so that destruction takes a very long time are known as inorganic wastes. Inorganic wastes come from non renewable natural resources such as minerals and petroleum, or from industrial processes. Some inorganic wastes as a whole cannot be explained by nature, while others can only be described in a very long time.

Examples of inorganic wastes- chemical solvents, paints, sandpaper, paper products, industrial by-products, metals, and radioactive wastes, sand, salt, Iron, Calcium and other mineral materials like  Arsenic.

Recycling is the process of converting waste materials into new materials and objects. It is an alternative to "conventional" waste disposal that can save material and help lower greenhouse gas emissions. Recycling can prevent the waste of potentially useful materials and reduce the consumption of fresh raw materials, thereby reducing: energy usage, air pollution (from incineration), and water pollution.

If a substance accumulates in a body for a long time, it will be passed on to next consumer in food chain.

Water pollution is the contamination of water bodies (e.g. lakes, rivers, oceans, aquifers and groundwater). This form of environmental degradation occurs when pollutants are directly or indirectly discharged into water bodies without adequate treatment to remove harmful compounds.

Conservation of resources is nothing but using resources optimally to prevent its exhaustion completely from the universe. It can be achieved by stopping misuse of resources. Resources can also be conserved by human population control, reducing pollution.

Dioxins are a group of dangerous chemicals which are known as persistent organic pollutants. Dioxins are found throughout the world in the environment. They accumulate in the food chain, mainly in the fatty tissue of animals. Dioxins are highly toxic. They can cause reproductive and developmental problems. They can cause physical and mental abnormality. They can damage the immune system. They can interfere with hormones and also cause cancer.

Environment forms the surroundings on which life depends. It is very much essential to protect our environment. One among many is by conserving metals. Metals pollute environment and if we conservatively use metals it prevents environmental pollution and also reduces waste disposal.
