The resources which are available in nature in an unlimited amount are known as inexhaustible resources. These resources can be replenished again and again for use. The solar energy is obtained from the radiations of the sun is an example of an inexhaustible resource. The energy is a safe energy source and does not cause any type of pollution.

The resources which can be replenished again after their consumption are referred as the renewable sources of energy. The forests can be replenished through afforestation. The programs like hugging the tree, tree plantation program, etc have been undertaken in order to increase the forests resources.

Biomass is organic material formed by the decomposition of dead plants and animals. The living forms such as plants and animals can be replenished by reproduction. Hence, biomass is a renewable and sustainable source of energy. It is used to generate electricity or other forms of energy. Thus the correct answer is option D.
