U2 released "With or Without You" on their 1987 album The Joshua Tree. It became one of their most famous and commercially successful ballads. The song exemplifies U2's distinctive sound with The Edge's atmospheric guitar work and Bono's emotive vocals.

Scorpions released "Always Somewhere" on their 1979 album Lovedrive. The song is one of their classic power ballads that showcases their melodic rock style. Eagles, Backstreet Boys, and Westlife are all bands from different genres and eras who did not record this song.

Pink Floyd released "Have a Cigar" on their 1975 album Wish You Were Here. The song is a satirical critique of the music industry and was famously sung by Roy Harper (not Roger Waters or David Gilmour) as the band wasn't satisfied with their own vocals. Nirvana, RHCP, and Metallica are other major rock bands who did not record this song.

Rick Rubin produced Metallica's most recent studio albums including Death Magnetic (2008) and Hardwired... to Self-Destruct (2016). Bob Rock produced their earlier acclaimed works from the Black Album through St. Anger (1991-2003).

Dave Mustaine wrote 'The Four Horsemen' (originally 'The Mechanix') while in Metallica. After leaving Metallica, he sped up the song and recorded it as 'The Mechanix' with Megadeth on their debut album 'Killing Is My Business'. Metallica's version became slower and evolved into 'The Four Horsemen'.

Metallica famously filed a lawsuit against Napster in 2000 over copyright infringement, becoming one of the most high-profile cases in the digital music piracy era. The lawsuit specifically targeted Napster's peer-to-peer file-sharing service which allowed users to exchange MP3 files freely. The other options (LimeWire, Azureus, Kazaa) were also P2P networks but Metallica's legal action was specifically against Napster.

Iron Maiden's iconic mascot is Eddie, a zombie-like creature who appears on all their album covers and merchandise. Eddie was created by Derek Riggs and has been a central part of the band's imagery since their debut.

'Now You've Got Something To Die For' is by Lamb of God from their 2004 album 'Ashes of the Wake'. This track is one of their most politically charged songs, critiquing war and blind patriotism.

Joey Jordison was Slipknot's original drummer from 1995 to 2013, playing on their first four studio albums. He was known for his aggressive, fast-paced drumming style and was a founding member of the band.
