Margherita is a town located in the Tinsukia district of Assam, known for its coal mining heritage and tea gardens. It is situated in the northeastern part of Assam and is an important industrial center in the state.

Tawang in Arunachal Pradesh is home to the Tawang Monastery, which is the largest Buddhist monastery in India and second largest in the world after the Potala Palace in Lhasa, Tibet. It was founded in 1680-81 by Merak Lama Lodre Gyatso.

Triple Falls is located in Dimapur, which is the largest city in Nagaland. It's a popular tourist attraction featuring three tiers of waterfalls. The other options are states in Northeast India but not the correct location.

Kanpur is known as a major leather and shoe manufacturing centre in Uttar Pradesh. It has a long history of leather industry and produces footwear for domestic and export markets.

Madurai has hills named after animals: Aanai Malai (Elephant), Pasu Malai (Cow), and Naaga Malai (Snake). However, 'Poonai Malai' (Cat Hill) is not among Madurai's actual hills.

Maharaas (also spelled Manipuri Raas) is a classical dance form from Manipur. It depicts the divine dance of Lord Krishna with the gopis (cowherd maidens) and is central to Manipuri's cultural and religious traditions.

Manamadurai has been part of Sivaganga district since that district's formation in 1985, and earlier fell under Ramanathapuram district's jurisdiction rather than Madurai. In contrast, Dindigul and Theni were both part of Madurai district until becoming separate districts in 1985 and 1996 respectively, while Periyakulam remained within Madurai until 1996.

Jammu & Kashmir (J & K) is the odd one out because it was a Union Territory (now divided into two UTs), while Haryana, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu are full states of India. This administrative distinction makes J & K different from the others, which are all states with their own state legislatures.

Dalhousie is a hill station in Himachal Pradesh, founded in the 1850s during the British colonial period. It is located in the Dhauladhar mountain range of the western Himalayas. Andhra Pradesh, Jharkhand, and Karnataka do not have hill stations named Dalhousie.

Patnitop is a hill station located in the Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir. It is situated in the Pir Panjal range and is a popular tourist destination. Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand are also northern hill station states, but Patnitop is specifically in J&K, not Tamil Nadu (which is in South India).

Nainital is a hill station in Uttarakhand, located in the Kumaon foothills of the outer Himalayas. It is known for its pear-shaped lake. West Bengal has Darjeeling, Himachal Pradesh has Shimla and Manali, and Gujarat is not known for Himalayan hill stations - Nainital is specifically in Uttarakhand.

Pachmarhi is the only hill station in Madhya Pradesh, located in the Hoshangabad district amidst the Satpura Range. It is often called 'Queen of Satpura.' Maharashtra has hill stations like Mahabaleshwar, Rajasthan is mostly desert, and Uttarakhand has Himalayan hill stations - but Pachmarhi is specifically in Madhya Pradesh.

Mount Abu is located in Rajasthan and is the only hill station in the state. It sits in the Aravalli Range and is a popular tourist destination known for its Dilwara Temples and Nakki Lake.

Tehri Dam in Uttarakhand is India's highest dam at 265 meters. It's a multi-purpose rock and earth-fill embankment dam on the Bhagirathi River. Other options are major dams but not the tallest.
