Indian Flora and Fauna

The Wildlife Protection Act, 1972, focuses on the protection of wild animals, birds, and plants. Museums are institutions for the preservation of artifacts and are not covered under this specific act.

The peacock, commonly known as 'Indian Peafowl' was declared the national bird of India in 1963, because it was entirely a part of Indian custom and culture. A peacock is a symbol of grace and beauty.

Bengal tiger or Panthera tigris is the national animal of India. It has earned this pride due to its agility, strength, power and grace.

National Chambal Sanctuary, also called the National Chambal Gharial Wildlife Sanctuary is located on the Shore of Chambal River. It conserves crocodiles and alligators. Apart from this it also protects critically endangered gharial (small crocodiles), the red-crowned roof turtle and the endangered Ganges river dolphin.

Tourist sites of Rajasthan include national parks like Ranthambore, Sariska, desert national park of Jaisalmer and Balmer etc. among the given options Bandipur national park is not present in Rajasthan, it is located in Karnataka.

Bird sanctuary of Bharatpur is also called as Keoladeo Ghana National Park. It is located in Indian state of Rajasthan and hosts thousands of birds, especially during the winter season. Over 230 species of birds are known to be resident of this sanctuary. It is one of the world heritage sites. 

Indri indri lemur also known as babakoto, is the largest living lemur on Earth. It as a head-and-body length of about 64–72 cm (25–28 in) and a weight of between 6 to 9.5 kg (13 to 21 lb). It occurs in Madagascar. It plays an important part in the myths of the residents of Madagascar, and legends with various stories in existence accounting for its origin. According to IUCN, it is classified as a critically endangered species.

Species diversity decreases from equator to poles. The reason lies behind the fact that the conditions for the survival of species at poles become unfavorable. The Equator has favorable conditions for the survival of wildlife. Good vegetation, sunlight, and habitat these factors are responsible for great biodiversity at the equator.

Blackbuck, Golden langur, and Asiatic wild ass are likely to be in danger of extinction and are classified as endangered (as their population is decreasing) by IUCN red data list.

The tiger (Panthera tigris) is the largest cat species, reaching a total body length of up to 3.38 m (11.1 ft) over curves and weighing up to 388.7 kg (857 lb) in the wild. Its most recognizable feature is a pattern of dark vertical stripes on reddish-orange fur with a lighter underside. The species is classified in the genus Panthera with the lion, leopard, jaguar and snow leopard. Tigers are apex predators, primarily preying on ungulates such as deer and bovids.  The wild  buffalo (Bubalus arnee), also called Asian buffalo and Asiatic buffalo, is a large bovine native to the Indian Subcontinent and Southeast Asia.
Tigers will be mostly killed by wild buffaloes, when they both fight. So, a tiger will have to think twice before attacking wild buffalo.

Holstein Friesian is the cow of Australian breed and it has the maximum lactation period. It yields around 10,000 L of milk per year.

Holstein Friesians are a breed of cattle, known today as the world's highest-production dairy animals. Originating in Europe, Friesians were bred in Netherlands and more specifically in the two northern provinces of North Holland and Friesland, and North Germany. 

Explanation: Exotic cattle were first introduced into this region by colonial farmers. Thus, the origin of exotic cattle is generally traced back to Europe. The most common exotic dairy breeds in the region are Friesian, Holstein, Ayrshire, Jersey, Guernsey and Sahiwal. However, the Friesian breed predominates.
