Indian Flora and Fauna

The Ganges River Dolphin was formally notified as   the   National   Aquatic   Animal   by   the   Ministry   of Environment and Forests on May 18, 2010. It is estimated that no more than 2,000 of these dolphins exist today. Distinguished by a thin long snout and large flippers, Ganges River dolphins are also referred to as blind dolphins as their eyes lack a lens.  They have been listed as 'highly endangered' in Schedule I of the Wildlife Protection Act (1972).

Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary is famous for having the highest density of one-horned rhinoceroses in the world.

Periyar National Park in Kerala is well-known for its elephant population and its tiger reserve.

Bandhavgarh National Park is located in the Umaria district of Madhya Pradesh, India. Shahdol is a nearby district in the same state.

'One of the' is always followed by a plural noun. Hence, plural noun 'animals' is needed here. The use of plural 'animals' rectifies the error.

The one-horned rhinoceros is found in both Kaziranga National Park and Manas National Park, both located in the state of Assam, India.

The cow is notably absent from the seals and terracotta art of the Indus Valley Civilization, whereas animals like the rhinoceros, tiger, and elephant are frequently depicted.

The world's first baby gibbon born in captivity was at the Itanagar Zoological Park in Arunachal Pradesh.

Ghana Bird Sanctuary, now known as Keoladeo National Park, is located in Bharatpur, Rajasthan.

Biosphere reserve is largest in area. The Biosphere Reserves of India protects larger areas of natural habitat than a National Park or Animal Sanctuary, and often includes one or more National Parks and/or preserves, along buffer zones that are open to some economic uses. 

Sabarimala and Tamil Nadu are the odd one out. All the other ones are the combinations of national parks and the place where they are located, but Sabarimala is a temple which is situated in Kerala. 

Melghat Tiger Reserve is situated in Maharashtra. Melghat was declared a Tiger Reserve and was among the first nine Tiger Reserves notified in 1973-74 under the Project Tiger. It is located in northern part of Amravati District of Maharashtra State in India. 

Simplipal Tiger Reserve is situated in Orissa. Simlipal Tiger Reserve is one of the best reserves of India located in the Mayurbhanj district in the Indian state of Orissa. It was originally the hunting ground of the kings of Mayurbhanj and was designed a tiger reserve in 1956. Spreading over an area of 2,750 sq km, the reserve occupies wonderful terrains composed of hills, twelve rivers, numerous waterfalls, dense Sal forests and a complete eco-system offering a fertile ground to highly endangered wildlife including tigers and leopards.  

Manas Wildlife Sanctuary is situated in Assam.  Manas Wildlife Sanctuary is a Wildlife Sanctuary, UNESCO Natural World Heritage site, a Project Tiger Reserve, an Elephant Reserve and a Biosphere Reserve in Assam, India. Located in the Himalayan foothills, it is contiguous with the Royal Manas National park in Bhutan. 

Kaziranga National Park is a famous wildlife sanctuary located in the state of Assam, India. It is well known for being the home of the majority of the world's one-horned rhinoceros population.
