Raipur is the capital of Chhattisgarh, established when the state was carved out of Madhya Pradesh in 2000. Ranchi is the capital of Jharkhand, Bhopal is the capital of Madhya Pradesh, and Durg is a major city in Chhattisgarh but not the capital.

Aizawl is the capital of Mizoram. It became the capital when Mizoram was granted statehood in 1987. Bhubaneshwar is the capital of Odisha, Dehradun is the capital of Uttarakhand, and Guwahati is a major city in Assam but not its capital.

Kolkata is situated on the eastern bank of the Hooghly River, which is a distributary of the Ganges. The Hooghly River flows through the city and has been crucial to its development as a major port. Agra is on the Yamuna, Lucknow is inland, and Ahmedabad is on the Sabarmati River.

Gol Gumbaz is located in Bijapur (now Vijayapura), Karnataka, and is the mausoleum of Muhammad Adil Shah. It's famous for having the second largest dome in the world and its unique whispering gallery. Bijapur was the capital of the Adil Shahi dynasty.

The Institute for Plasma Research (IPR), located in Gandhinagar near Ahmedabad, focuses on plasma physics and fusion research. It was inspected by the ITER International Mission before India's ITER membership. IPR leads India's fusion program and contributes to the ITER project in France. Pune has NCAR, Bangalore has IISc, and Mumbai has BARC.

Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam was born in Rameswaram, a holy town in the Ramanathapuram district of Tamil Nadu. This pilgrimage town is where the famous Ramanathaswamy Temple is located. Kochi is in Kerala, New Delhi is the capital, and Thoothukkudi is another Tamil Nadu city but not his birthplace.

Dravidian University was established in 1997 at Kuppam in Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh. It is a state university focused on Dravidian languages, literature, and culture. Kuppam is a town located near the Andhra-Karnataka-Tamil Nadu border.

Shah Rukh Khan owns a villa named 'Jannat' (meaning Paradise) on the Palm Jumeirah in Dubai, UAE. Mannat is his Mumbai residence. Sun City is in South Africa, Manhattan is in New York, and Mauritius is an island nation - none of these are the location of Jannat.

Shah Rukh Khan spent his childhood and was raised in Delhi, attending school there before moving to Mumbai for his acting career. He was born in Delhi, not Bihar, Ahmedabad, or Honolulu (which is completely unrelated).

In 1662, the Portuguese ceded the territory of Bombay (now Mumbai) to England as part of the dowry when Catherine of Braganza married King Charles II of England. Catherine was the sister of King Afonso VI of Portugal. This strategic port became the British Bombay Presidency and grew into modern Mumbai. Other options were never Portuguese dowry territories - Panaji remained Portuguese until 1961, Kolkata was British, and Pondicherry was French.
