Hyderabad earned the title 'City of Nizam' as it was the capital of the princely state of Hyderabad ruled by the Nizams (Asaf Jahi dynasty) for over 200 years. The Nizams were among the world's wealthiest rulers, and their legacy is reflected in the city's architecture (like Charminar and Chowmahalla Palace), cuisine (Hyderabadi biryani), and culture.
