Ludhiana was founded in 1480 by the Lodi dynasty rulers of the Delhi Sultanate. It was established as a military camp and trading post on the banks of the Sutlej River. The city's name derives from 'Lodi' (the dynasty) and 'ana' (camp or habitation). Sikandar Lodi was the specific ruler under whose reign Ludhiana was established.

The National Museum of India is located on Janpath in New Delhi. It's one of the largest museums in India, housing over 200,000 artworks covering 5,000 years of Indian art and heritage. Established in 1949, it falls under the Ministry of Culture.

The Electronics Corporation of India Limited (ECIL) is headquartered in Hyderabad. Founded in 1967, it's a Public Sector Enterprise under the Department of Atomic Energy. ECIL specializes in electronics, IT, and nuclear instrumentation, supporting India's nuclear and space programs.

Gandhinagar is the capital city of Gujarat, named after Mahatma Gandhi. It was planned and built specifically to serve as the capital, unlike Ahmedabad which is the largest city but not the capital.

Bangalore was officially renamed to Bengaluru in 2014, reflecting the Kannada pronunciation of the city's name. This change was part of a broader movement to restore indigenous names of Indian cities.

India's first commercial heliport was built in New Delhi at Rohini. It was inaugurated in 2017 and serves as a dedicated facility for helicopter operations.

India hosted the ICCO (International Cocoa Organization) global summit for the first time in 2006, and New Delhi was chosen as the venue. This was a significant event as it brought cocoa-producing and consuming nations together in India for the first time. Pune, Hyderabad, and Mumbai are major cities but were not the host cities for this particular summit.

The India Security Press and Currency Notes Press are located in Nashik (spelled 'Nasik' in the option), Maharashtra. They print currency notes, postage stamps, and other security documents. Pune has the Mint, Bangalore has none, and Bombay (Mumbai) has other government facilities but not the Security Press.

The National Institute of Design (NID) is located in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. It was established in 1961 and is one of India's premier design institutions. NID has campuses in Gandhinagar, Bengaluru, and Kurukshedra, but the main campus remains in Ahmedabad. The misspelling 'Arungabad' should be Aurangabad.

The National Ship Design and Research Centre (NSDRC) is located in Vishakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. It is a premier defense research organization under the DRDO dedicated to naval ship design and research.

Hindustan Organic Chemicals Limited (HOCL) is located in Rasayani, Maharashtra. Rasayani is an industrial township in Raigad district near Mumbai, where HOCL established its chemical manufacturing facility.

The National Law Institute University (NLIU) is located in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. It was established in 1997 and is one of the premier national law schools in India. NLIU Bhopal offers undergraduate and postgraduate law programs.

The 14th SAARC Summit was held in New Delhi in April 2007, with India as the host. Kathmandu (Nepal) hosted the 3rd and 11th summits, Dhaka (Bangladesh) hosted the 7th, and Colombo (Sri Lanka) hosted the 10th and 15th summits. The 2007 summit was significant for the SAARC development fund declaration.
