The most common way of capturing the energy from geothermal sources is to tap into naturally occurring 'hydrothermal convection' systems, where cooler water seeps into Earth's crust, is heated up, and then rises to the surface. Once this heated water is forced to the surface, it is a relatively simple matter to capture that steam and use it to drive electric generators. Geothermal power plants drill their own holes into the rock to more effectively capture the steam.

Most of our energy is derived from non-renewable sources. 80% of the world's commercial energy comes from fossil fuels i.e oil, coal and natural gas. As non-renewable resources, their use is clearly unsustainable. While these resources will still exist in the ground for many years, both the financial and energy costs of bringing them to market will become increasingly prohibitive as their supplies dwindle.

Biogas typically refers to a mixture of different gases produced by the breakdown of organic matter in the absence of oxygen. Biogas can be produced from raw materials such as agricultural waste, manure, municipal waste, plant material, sewage, green waste or food waste. It is a renewable energy source.
Biogas can be produced by anaerobic digestion with anaerobic bacteria, which digest material inside a closed system, or fermentation of biodegradable materials.

Bioenergy is renewable energy derived from biological sources, primarily biomass such as forest products, agricultural crops, and animal waste.

In a biogas plant, household wastes and biowastes can be disposed of usefully and in a healthy manner to obtain biogas a renewable source of energy, which is used as a fuel because it reacts with oxygen and  releases energy, which is clean in nature. Also the residue of the plant can be used as a manure.
