According to the Mahabharata, Krishna saved Arjuna from Karna twice during the Kurukshetra war. First, when Karna's divine weapon (Shakti) was aimed at Arjuna, Krishna caused the chariot to sink into the earth by pressing down with his foot, causing the weapon to miss Arjuna's head and instead strike his crown. Second, Krishna saved Arjuna when another of Karna's powerful arrows was about to strike him.
