Manimekhalai (also spelled Manimegalai) is a Tamil Buddhist epic poem written by Satthanar (also spelled Seethalai Saathanar). It is one of the Five Great Epics of Tamil literature and follows the story of Manimekhalai, the daughter of Kovalan and Madhavi from the Silappathikaram epic. Ilango Adigal wrote Silappathikaram, Kamban wrote Ramavataram, and Tolkappiyar wrote Tolkappiyam.
