Manimekalai is a Tamil Buddhist epic written by the poet-saint Satthanar (also known as Chithalai Chathanar). It is one of the Five Great Epics of Tamil literature and continues the story from the Silappathikaram. Sekkizhar wrote Periyapuranam, Tholkappiyar wrote Tholkappiyam (grammar), and Illangovadigal wrote Silappathikaram.
