Bhavabhuti was a renowned Sanskrit playwright during the Gupta period (c. 8th century CE). He wrote "Uttara Ramacarita" (The Later Story of Rama), one of his three major plays, focusing on the later episodes of Rama's life after his return to Ayodhya.
