Hanuman belonged to the Kishkindha kingdom, which was ruled by his uncle Sugriva and later by Vali. Kishkindha was the monkey kingdom mentioned in the Ramayana, located in present-day Karnataka. Mithila, Panchvati, and Avadh are different locations associated with other characters.
