The revolt of 1857 severely affected Jhansi (led by Rani Lakshmibai), Jagdispur (led by Kunwar Singh), and Lucknow (site of prolonged siege). Chittor, however, remained peaceful and did not witness significant rebel activity. The revolt was concentrated in northern and central India - particularly Awadh, Delhi, Kanpur, Jhansi, and Bihar - while many territories like Chittor stayed under British control without major disturbances.
