Chanakya (c. 4th century BCE), the renowned teacher and royal advisor who authored the Arthashastra and helped establish the Mauryan Empire, was also known as Vishnugupta. Ancient Indian texts often attributed multiple names to scholars. Bhattasvamin and Rajasekhara were different figures, and Visakhadatta was a dramatist who wrote the Mudrarakshasa (about Chanakya) but lived centuries later.
