Carbon dioxide (CO2) is used as the reference gas for Global Warming Potential (GWP) calculations, with a GWP value defined as 1. Other gases are measured relative to this baseline.

The poisonous gases released in the environment traps the radiations on the earth and increases temperature which leads to global warming.
