A parasite is an organism that lives on or in a host organism and gets its food at the expense of its host. The classic example is ticks or tapeworms. Breathing is a biological process but unrelated, suave means smooth or charming, and tendency to keep together refers to cohesion.

Guise refers to an outward appearance or semblance, often used to conceal the true nature of something. We say 'under the guise of friendship' meaning pretending to be friendly. Rebound is a bounce-back, animal-biting fly refers to a tsetse or similar insect, and grisly means gruesome or horrifying.

Solicitous means showing anxiety or concern, often to an excessive degree. A solicitous parent is overly worried about their child. Spacious and comfortable describes roomy environments, a waster is someone who squanders resources, and comestible means edible.

Latent means present or existing but not yet developed or manifest, hidden or concealed. A latent talent is one you have but haven't discovered yet. Ancient paper is papyrus, anxious is worried, and contrast is a comparison between things.

Predispose means to make someone liable or inclined to a particular attitude or action in advance. Genetics can predispose you to certain diseases. Picking out the weakest is culling, a wine merchant is a vintner, and appearance of truth is verisimilitude.

Remunerative means providing financial compensation or payment, profitable. A remunerative job pays well. Question severely means interrogate, appearance of truth is verisimilitude, and grisly means gruesome or horrifying.

Touchy means oversensitive, easily offended or irritated. A touchy subject is one that upsets people easily. Incinerate means burn, bold means confident, and approach and speak first is accost.

Prolixity means tedious wordiness, using too many words. A prolix speech goes on and on. Rotting flesh is necrosis, approach first is accost, and grant condescendingly is deign.

Pushy means disagreeably aggressive, overly forward in trying to get what you want. A pushy salesperson won't take no for an answer. Boorish means rude, entice means tempt, and amount produced is yield or output.
