Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya founded the Benaras Hindu University (BHU) in 1916 with the support of Annie Besant. He was a prominent Indian educationist and freedom fighter. The other options were important Hindu reformers but not BHU founders.

Udham Singh assassinated Michael O'Dwyer (misspelled as 'Odwayer') in London in 1940 to avenge the Jallianwala Bagh massacre of 1919. O'Dwyer was the Lieutenant Governor of Punjab at the time of the massacre. Udham Singh was later executed for this act.

Chandra Shekhar Azad and his associates (including Ram Prasad Bismil and Ashfaqulla Khan) robbed a train at Kakori near Lucknow in 1925. This famous Kakori Train Robbery was organized by the HRA (Hindustan Republican Association) to fund revolutionary activities against British rule.
