C. Rajagopalachari became the first Indian Governor-General of India in 1948 after Lord Mountbatten, and served until the post was abolished in 1950 with India becoming a republic. This makes him both the first and last Indian to hold this position. Dr. Rajendra Prasad became the first President of India instead.

The first digital camera was invented in 1975 by Kodak engineer Steven Sasson. It weighed 8 pounds, recorded to a cassette tape, and captured 0.01 megapixel (10,000 pixel) black-and-white images requiring 23 seconds to record.
