Beeswax is a natural wax produced by honeybees of the genus Apis. The wax is the secretion of of the glands present in the abdominal segments of worker bees which discard it in the hive . Chemically, beeswax consists of mainly esters of fatty acids and various long chain alcohols. It is used in making polishes, candles, as a lubricant , waterproofing agent and also in cosmetics.
